POSITION: Library Assistant
Groton Public Library
Regular Part-Time, 20 hours per week, to include evening and Saturday hours
Position eligible for prorated benefits
STARTING RATE: $25.46 / hour
POSITION RANGE: $25.46 – $29.25 / hour
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Library Assistant performs varied clerical cuties in issuing and receiving library materials in all formats. This position assists users in the use of library services, answers questions, and refers inquiries to the appropriate division. The individual in this position maintains records of circulation and performs other activities that include using various software applications and the Integrated Library System (ILS).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The skills and knowledge required would usually be acquired with a high school education and two years public library experience. Excellent communication, customer service skills, proficiency with computers and office equipment, and experience using an Integrated Library System are required.
