Base pay range $80,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr Senior Specialist, Graphic Designer Hybrid: 2 days in the office Position Overview: Washington, D.C.-based trade association seeks a graphic designer to shape and maintain the organization’s brand identity through modern, innovative, and visually compelling designs. Support the Communications & Public Affairs and Marketing & Events teams by creating a wide range of communications and marketing materials to elevate the brand across diverse platforms, including social media, web, digital ads, emails, and printed collateral. What You’ll Do: Develop and execute graphics, templates, and other visual collateral to support communications and marketing activities, including membership, events, and industry campaigns. Design impactful visual assets for print (e.g., fact sheets, brochures, signage) and digital (e.g., email, website/landing pages, social media graphics) products that are in line with current industry standards. Create engaging and visually consistent social media graphics and templates for use with campaigns and significant industry initiatives. Create visuals to explain complex information. Design layouts for print and digital publications, including multi-page documents such as brochures, reports and fact sheets. Design and maintain easy-to-use templates for use across the association. Leverage professional expertise to provide guidance and direction on concepts/designs for events, campaigns, and special projects and integrate feedback from colleagues before finalizing assets. Manage multiple projects and tasks—ensuring high-quality, error-free deliverables under tight deadlines. Identify opportunities to enhance the association’s visual identity. Ensure consistency and alignment with the association's style guidelines across all collateral and platforms. Ensure all assets meet 508-compliance standards. What you'll need to succeed (requirements): Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, or a related field and 5-7 years of professional design experience, ideally in a fast-paced organization or creative agency. Advanced proficiency with graphic programs, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD), Canva, and Figma or Sketch. Proven ability to design for multiple platforms, including social media, print, web, and exhibits. Deep understanding of branding principles, typography, color theory and layout design. Understanding of industry trends, including print production processes and digital marketing. Strong project management skills and the ability to collaborate with team members, provide guidance, and deliver projects under deadline. Ability to present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders clearly and effectively. Preferred Skills: Experience designing at a trade association, nonprofit, or an ad agency. Knowledge of video editing and motion graphics tools, such as Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects. Familiar with HTML/CSS for web design. Familiarity with audience segmentation and tailoring visuals to diverse stakeholder groups.
