Position Overview:
The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a dynamic Lead User Experience Designer to oversee the technical execution of IT and Cyber Services programs supporting the United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) Cyber Information Technology Enterprise Services (SCITES) 2 contract. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the successful implementation and sustainment of cyber-informed IT solutions that enhance full-spectrum operations across USSOUTHCOM's extensive Area of Responsibility (AOR), which includes Central and South America, as well as select Caribbean nations. The ideal candidate will combine technical leadership with engineering expertise, while fostering collaboration among diverse mission partners.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead initiatives to optimize user experience across the USSOUTHCOM Enterprise, including overseas locations.
Implement user experience monitoring across supported networks to proactively address user challenges.
Provide design and engineering insights to prioritize user requirements in capability implementations.
Develop and maintain cyber-informed architectures, ensuring robust configuration and change management for security of mission-critical systems.
Collaborate with program management to align technical solutions with operational needs and strategic objectives, facilitating proactive decision-making.
Leverage innovative technologies and emergent UX methodologies to bridge capability gaps, enhance mission capabilities, and reduce total cost of ownership.
Ensure compliance of UX solutions with DoD regulations, USSOUTHCOM policies, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
At least 12 years of experience in user experience, UI development, software development, system design, systems engineering, cybersecurity, or related work.
Minimum of 5 years in digital user experience roles, specifically in C5IM systems.
Must hold and be able to maintain a Secret security clearance.
Experience leading design and implementation in a DOD compliant environment.
Proven experience leading teams in high-stakes, mission-critical scenarios, including overseas deployment.
Willingness to travel as needed within the USSOUTHCOM AOR.
Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools like Aternity and ScienceLogic.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in UX Design, IT, or Engineering.
Experience supporting combatant commands or other defense organizations.
Understanding of USSOUTHCOM's mission, strategic goals, and command structure.
Bilingual communication skills (English and Spanish), with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to senior leadership and a variety of stakeholders.

Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
