PURVIS has an immediate full-time position open for a Mechanical Designer/Drafter with experience in SolidWorks,. AutoCAD and PWB (Public Web Browser) software. Candidate will be a member of the engineering design/drafting team.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:
- Support U.S Navy system designs and development.
- Review of government furnished information (GFI) and engineering drawing redlines to incorporate into drawing packages as required.
- Review engineering drawing readlines.
- Develop 3D models by analyzing prototypes and 2D drawings.
- Create, update and maintain mechanical drawing packages using Solidworks and AutoCAD.
- Drawing packages may include production drawings, circuit card assemblies, parts list, schematic diagrams, assembly and test fixture drawings.
- Update and maintain PWB drawings using Altium, CAM 350, or equivalent programs.
- Ensure drawings comply with standards and practices.
- 5-10 years professional experience.
- Ability to work independently and require little rework.
- Ability to review engineering drawings and understand required changes.
- Ability to work closely with Subject Matter Experts and U.S. Navy military and civilian personnel.
- Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks required.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD required.
- Knowledge of PWB software required; Altium is a plus.
- Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) required.
- Experience work with Autodesk inventor or other 3D packages is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of existing submarine systems, Military Specifications, and previous defense industry is a plus, but not required.
Candidate must be able to obtain a government security clearance to the level of SECRET.
