We proudly serve as the NC’s statewide economic development organization, partnering with local and regional economic development organizations and private-sector companies that support our efforts.


The Creative Services Specialist will support the marketing initiatives of the EDPNC to attract businesses and talent to North Carolina and provide expansion services to businesses already in the state. The Creative Services Specialist is an integral member of the marketing team, working in collaboration with digital marketing, communications, research and event team members as well as external agency partners to develop, design and produce a variety of multi-media creative assets. Considered the “keeper of the brand,” the Creative Services Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all EDPNC branded communications are consistent in messaging and content within company and campaign standards and represent the state of North Carolina and the organization to their best advantage.


Here is what you can expect to accomplish in this role:

  • Produce a broad range of creative and engaging for EDPNC business marketing and talent recruitment efforts, including but not limited to marketing collateral, presentation materials (including PowerPoint), publications, advertisements, tradeshow signage, invitations, digital posts and e-greetings, video, and photography.
  • Work closely with content creation partners on the marketing, research, and communications teams, applying creative vision and deep understanding of visual and graphic components to enhance communication of key messaging across platforms and creative materials.
  • As the organization’s primary creative voice, advise on a variety of topics related to presentation and design, bringing creativity and out-of-the-box thinking to bear on business problems.
  • Curate/manage the organization’s library of visual (photo and video) assets via digital asset management system (DAM), ensuring that metadata, legal permissions, and usage are recorded.
  • Own, manage, and evolve brand guidelines and ensure that EDPNC brand and campaign standards are followed.
  • Responsible for quality control of all EDPNC branded materials, ensuring that all creative work products are letter-perfect before release.
  • Manage outside vendors and partners (printers, signage producers, designers, photographers, freelance resources, etc.), maintaining quality standards and budget compliance.
  • Liaise with marketing agency-of-record on matters pertaining to design and visual branding.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree or certification in graphic art, design, advertising creation related field required.
  • 1 to 2 years work experience, ideally in a creative services or agency role.
  • Demonstrated artistic and creative capability, solid visual arts and technology skill set and knowledge of design principles and best practices required. Please provide work samples.
  • Capability with both Mac & Windows platforms and advanced knowledge of professional software, including Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools (Asana, Monday or other).
  • Expert in use of Adobe Creative Cloud tools and programs, including Adobe Illustrator and Indesign, with knowledge of Premiere and After Effects or similar video editing software a plus.
  • Photography and video creation/editing experience, ideally on set. Experience capturing footage via drone a plus.
  • Experienced in digital design, including email and social media.
