About Us:

God Restoring Order (GRO) Community is a mental healthcare provider that specializes in trauma recovery services for males of color ages 5 and up. GRO services are grounded in an understanding of the neurological, biological and psychological effects of trauma. GRO services include mental health and wellness, stress management, and community outreach.


Position Summary:

GRO Community is seeking a dynamic, creative, and driven Social Media Coordinator to help us make a real impact! In this role, the Social Media Coordinator will have the opportunity to create powerful, engaging content that sparks conversations, raises awareness, and builds a supportive online community. This individual will play a pivotal part in driving our mission to break down mental health stigma and provide critical resources to those in need. The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for developing, curating, and managing content across all social media platforms. This individual will play a key role in not only engaging with our online community but driving awareness for GRO Community’s services and initiatives and supporting the marketing department in all compelling social media strategies through innovative content creation and digital storytelling.


Key Responsibilities:


Content Creation & Management:

  • Develop and implement a content calendar aligned with the organization's mission, campaigns, and key dates (e.g., Mental Health Awareness Month).
  • Create engaging content (graphics, videos, articles, infographics, etc.) that resonates with our target audience, including heavy community engagement.
  • Create post content, ensuring messages are clear, supportive, and aligned with our brand’s voice and values.


Social Media Strategy:

  • Monitor trends in mental health, nonprofit sectors, and social media to inform strategy and content.
  • Develop strategies to increase followers, engagement, and brand awareness across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Leverage analytics tools to track and report on the performance of posts, campaigns, and overall social media growth.


Community Engagement:

  • Engage with followers, respond to comments and messages, and foster a positive and supportive online environment.
  • Collaborate with influencers, advocates, and mental health professionals to extend reach and amplify key messages.
  • Manage social media campaigns for fundraising, events, and awareness initiatives.


Collaboration & Reporting:

  • Work closely with the marketing manager to support campaigns and marketing department initiatives.
  • Prepare monthly reports on social media performance and community engagement, providing actionable insights for future content strategies.


Education Requirement:

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of social media marketing in mental health is preferred, but a passion for learning and a commitment to mental health advocacy is a must.


Experience:

  • 2-3 years proven experience in social media management, preferably in the nonprofit, mental health, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling content and grow online communities.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) and social media tools.
  • Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign ) and photo/video editing abilities.
  • A solid understanding of mental health, stigma reduction, and wellness topics.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics and using data to inform content decisions.
  • Passionate about mental health advocacy and nonprofit work.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive, empathetic, and supportive attitude towards mental health issues.
