Position Overview

The College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas (UNT) is accepting applications for a full-time faculty position as a 3 year (renewable) Lecturer in New Media Art, beginning Fall 2025.
The successful candidate will teach four studio art courses per year (2/2) in the undergraduate New Media Art curriculum. This includes introductory courses around time-based practices (moving image, sound, and digital art) and intermediate/advanced topics courses based on the successful candidate’s interest and expertise.

Additionally, the successful candidate for this position will act as the New Media Art Visual Arts Technician with an expectation of 20 hours per week dedicated to serving that function. Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: Management of the New Media Art concentration facilities for student and faculty use, maintaining equipment and equipment check out system, purchasing supplies, maintaining area instructional fee budget, disseminating information, keeping lab records and files, general office duties, setting safety standards, supervising hourly workers and Graduate Student Assistants, other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

MFA in Digital/Electronic/ Emerging Media/ New Media Art or closely related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of college-level teaching experience as instructor of record in digital art or new media art
  • Demonstrated professional or scholarly competency with a mix of traditional and emerging technologies and methods
