Society for Scholarly Publishing is hiring: Editor and Publisher in Jackson

I am getting ready to retire after 42 rewarding years at The Greenwood Commonwealth, including the past 30 as its editor and publisher. I am helping our parent company, Emmerich Newspapers, look for my replacement.

The Commonwealth is a small five-day daily, including a large press operation. We have invested heavily in our proprietary state-of-the-art, 24/7, local news and social media platform. We need a strong manager to lead and guide our talented staff into the future.

Responsibilities:

1. Drive revenue and profit while producing quality products.
2. Demonstrate solid editorial skills alongside in-depth advertising knowledge.
3. Actively engage and integrate within the community.

Qualifications:

1. Experience in both editorial and advertising fields.
2. Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.

Medical, 401(k), & other benefits. Compensation range $80K - $90K. We are aggressive in compensation for the right person. Our bonus model allows high achievers excellent, additional compensation atop their substantial base salary.
