Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Social Media Manager for our client, a globally impactful Nonprofit at the center of biodiversity, conservation, and human rights and working in solidarity with Indigenous peoples and movements worldwide. This is an exciting full-time opportunity based out of Seattle, WA! As the Social Media Manager , you will coordinate and manage the organization's voice and brand across social platforms, crafting content and visuals that amplify the mission and values. This includes elevating narratives about Indigenous Peoples’ guardianship and sharing stories where Indigenous rights, social justice, and environmental stewardship intersect. RESPONSIBILITIES: Social Media Strategy & Management Co-develop and execute global social media strategies that advance the mission, aligning campaigns with organizational priorities and values. Cultivate strategic partnerships with social media platforms, organizations, grantees, allies, and influencers to amplify reach and impact. Stay informed about current social media trends, new tools, and strategies for utilizing platforms and content to optimize our efforts while engaging and growing target audiences. Grow the organization's presence on existing platforms while providing research, recommendations, and proposed strategies to launch additional presence on new platforms. Content Development Create compelling and timely social content and copy, ensuring accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and alignment with the mission and impact goals. Produce and edit social-first graphics, visuals, and videos independently or in partnership with designers and the production team that is optimized for campaigns, films, and other initiatives. Develop, distribute, and manage social and impact campaign distribution toolkits. Cover regional and global events, collaborating with cross-organizational teams and external partners to highlight the impact of initiatives and the role of Indigenous partners. Audience Development & Engagement Enhance audience engagement and build the organization's audience base by monitoring and analyzing social media performance, and providing actionable insights and recommendations to refine strategies and audience responsiveness. Provide active and responsive management of social media messages, comments, and shares, staying on top of news and trending topics, and amplifying our Indigenous partners' voices. Manage rapid crisis responses across social media channels. Collaborate closely with Director, Communications and key stakeholders to develop and implement paid social and advertising strategies. QUALIFICATIONS: 3+ years of social media experience and/or digital communications. Proven track record managing high-visibility branded social accounts, inclusive of Instagram, LinkedIn, or video-first platforms. Demonstrated experience developing social strategies and campaigns. Experience with hands-on social media content creation, including static graphics and videos. Knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and Sprout. Experience using Asana and SharePoint. Experience with social media monitoring and analytics reporting. Experience managing influencer relationships and providing real-time social media coverage at live events. Comfort on camera for social-first videos, interviews, and event coverage. High level of cultural fluency, with an ability to understand, respect, and respond to sensitive cultural nuances associated with working alongside Indigenous Peoples globally. Working knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese. Experience with global organizations and frameworks. Experience working with Indigenous Peoples. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: This exciting career opportunity allows you to work with a passionate and thriving team! The pay range for this role is $41 - $46 per hour plus Health, Dental, Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, and Disability Insurance, Employee Assistance Program, 12 Paid Holidays, 2 Paid Volunteer Days, 3 Personal Days, and the ability to accumulate 6 weeks of PTO and Paid Sick Leave!
