As a trusted federal contractor, we are proud to help communities implement Environmental Justice grants awarded by the EPA to tackle decades of environmental harm and support sustainable climate action strategies. We are looking for a Writer/Editor to join our dynamic team and play a critical role in advancing our mission of directly impacting underserved communities with pressing environmental and climate justice issues.
This hybrid position is based in McLean, VA and requires three days per week in the office. Candidates with federal government and environmental experience are highly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, analyze, and compose information. This would include collaboration with subject matter experts, researchers, strategists, and project managers.
- Author, review and edit documents for accuracy.
- Apply knowledge of government writing style guides (e.g., Federal Plain Language Guidelines) to ensure compliance with official communication standards.
- Check compliance with Section 508of the Rehabilitation Act accessibility standards set by the federal government to ensure that documents are accessible to individuals with disabilities.
Qualifications Education & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Communications, Pubic Relations, or related area is required.
- Strong writing, editing and communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in using tools/software for technical writing and editing.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to engage with technical and executive teams for content acquisition.
- Ability to utilize project management tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of government grants and/or climate justice programming is a plus!
The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000 annually and will be commensurate with qualifications, experience and geography.
