POSITION CONTINGENT ON CONTRACT AWARD

Position Overview:

The Technical Writer is responsible for writing, editing, and formatting all documents and lesson handouts. They research relevant information to ensure documentation is accurate and comprehensive, manage configuration of Training Development Support (TDS) documents, and maintain master versions to track updates properly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Writer designs and produces technical, training, and operational publications, including comprehensive student and instructor guides. These guides align with curriculum standards and include structured lesson pathways, exercises, teaching strategies, and key instructional points to support effective knowledge transfer.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

The Technical Writer creates standardized checklists for training and operational tasks, ensuring accuracy and clarity for safe and efficient completion. They also develop Flight Training Guides (FTGs) and Course Management Plans (CMPs), detailing procedures, flight hours, and tasks for each training day. Additionally, the Technical Writer designs POI checklists, outlining course objectives, lesson plans, and assessment criteria to ensure structured course delivery.

Requirements (Minimum Experience, Education, Skills, Knowledge, and Licensure):

- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or Technical Writing.

- Minimum of four years’ experience technical writing.

- Minimum of two years’ experience working in the Department of Defense.

- Applicants must possess a SECRET Clearance.

Other Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

- Working knowledge of military formatting for technical manuals, training manuals, and pamphlets.
