Operant AI is seeking a Product Marketing Manager/ Sr. Product Marketing Manager who will join our foundational marketing team to help build out the next level of marketing assets, content, messaging, and sales enablement, reporting to the Co-founder and CMO. As the ideal product marketing manager candidate, you are a savvy expert in defining and executing exceptional product marketing programs in a growth-oriented tech startup environment. You have a hunger to learn huge amounts of valuable industry knowledge in the center of AI innovation in San Francisco, and to move forward in your career on warp speed at the cutting edge of the next frontier in Cybersecurity and AI. You thrive on staying several steps ahead of a complex and constantly changing competitive landscape and distilling that knowledge into clear and compelling marketing that drives brand narratives, customer conversations, and revenue conversion. You are proud to be a hands-on do-er who can take initiative and get things done to a customer-facing level of quality both as a single owner of a project and in collaboration with sales, engineering, product, design, and other marketers. You should demonstrate an extensive track record of orchestrating successful product marketing campaigns in a fast-growing enterprise tech environment, and be comfortable operating at a level of technical detail in cloud security and AI that is necessary to create engaging, differentiated, and accurate content for highly technical buyers. Who We Are:
We're in business to secure the modern world. Operant's unique technology solves several of the biggest problems in modern cybersecurity - from Cloud to APIs to AI applications in their native environments - with an implementation that is so easy it is unmatched in the industry. Operant raised its Series A funding round in September 2024 and is growing rapidly with an aggressive road map for 2025 and beyond. Having already been named as a vendor in Gartner's market guide for API Threat Protection and Kubernetes Runtime Security as well as Forrester's Zero Trust landscape in 2024, and as an active board member of CosAI (Coalition for Secure AI) the sky's the limit for leading this growing market. Responsibilities: Create compelling customer-facing content to fuel rapid expansion of messaging and narratives from short blurbs to long-form treatises, across the website, sales enablement assets, downloadable white papers, social media, and more. Build out verticalized content for target industries and co-selling partners focusing on FinTech, High Tech, Health Tech, Cloud Providers, and B2B AI providers. Work closely with growth marketing, brand marketing, sales, and product to make sure that messaging is being used effectively and that feedback from customers, analysts, and influencers is being appropriately incorporated into new iterations. Manage a robust content calendar mapped to marketing and sales goals and produce the content necessary to fulfill that calendar with minimal input from engineering and sales (they provide the bullet points, you do the rest). Work directly in design tools such as Figma and Canva to produce assets following brand guidelines and templates with only occasional collaboration with outside designers on a project-by-project basis. You should be good at making charts, diagrams, and similar visuals that tell compelling and clear use case stories for a technical/SAAS product. Create and update sales decks on an on-going basis, following brand templates and messaging guidelines and customizing for customer segments and priority use cases with empathy for the customer's needs and urgency. Proactively build out and maintain an evolving view of competitor messaging and customer pain points, optimizing messaging to outpace and keep up with rapidly changing competitors. Presence at and support for GTM campaigns and activities including event booths, webinars, and other similar marketing activities that overlap between product marketing, growth marketing, and brand marketing. Basic Qualifications: 5+ years of experience with growing responsibility in related roles with a strong track record of success in a startup environment and a deeply technical product. Comfort with and passion for cross-functional relationship building across stakeholders, customers and vendors. Experience researching and validating various market/category and messaging directions in a complex competitive landscape to match the right benefits/features to the customers' most urgent needs.
