Senior Audio Software Development Engineer
As a Senior Audio Software Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, optimizing, triaging and supporting audio functionalities for embedded systems. As part of the larger technology team working on new consumer technology, your work will have a large impact on hardware, internal software developers, ecosystem, and ultimately the lives of Amazon customers.
If you have one or more of the below skills, then this job is for you:
- Exposure to Audio software stack on Android/QNX/proprietary OS including Audio Flinger, Audio HAL
- Exposure to ARM, DSP architectures
- Expertise in ALSA / Pulse Audio
- Exposure to Dolby MS12 / DTS/ MPEG-TS
- Exposure to Audio/Video Sync
- Exposure to STB / DTV audio systems
- Working knowledge of Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, and Audio Tools including Audio Precision
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Design audio features that work across various embedded products
- Develop audio software that runs on ARM/DSP using Bare metal, Linux and other high level OSes
- Optimization and porting audio and speech processing algorithms
- Integration of vendor hardware and software stacks
- Tune hardware for highest audio performance and lowest noise
- Be passionate, responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment
- Be able and willing to multi-task and learn new technologies quickly
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
