Job Title: Scientific Literature Database Management
Location(s): Richmond, VA
Responsibilities:
- Article Acquisition and Uploading: Based on the results of searches that have been executed for various topic areas, the Contractor will order and obtain copyright compliant, electronic scientific articles through designated resources (e.g., Client resources). The Contractor is accountable for tracking the status of articles obtained for a given search results set. Upon receipt of individual articles, the Contractor will load electronic copies into the Client Literature Management Platform and add required meta-data for each article, including bibliographic and other information.
- Report of Information into Literature Management Platform: The Contractor will generate reports of articles and related article meta-data from the Literature Management Platform, ensuring that the content and format conforms with style or other requirements.
- Manage Bibliographies and Citations for Articles: The Contractor will prepare a Word-based bibliography of articles within a designated topic area and export bibliographic information into a centralized citation management database (e.g., EndNote).
- Other Support as needed from Client: The Contractor will provide other literature-related support for regulatory submissions and participate in teleconferences or other meetings with Client personnel.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree is required. Familiarity with published scientific literature is preferable.
- Significant knowledge and work experience in relational databases or other managed document review platforms. Note: this is NOT an IT role.
- Significant knowledge and work experience with citation management software such as EndNote.
- Significant knowledge and work experience in MS Office skills including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Strong demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple and changing timelines.
