Job Summary
We are seeking a dual hatted role: Data Management Analyst with Technical Writing responsibilities.
For the data management tasks: Design, develop and establish moderately complex data management documentation based on program requirements. Coordinate the development, implementation, and maintenance of configuration management systems. Knowledge of Costpoint required.
For the technical writing tasks: Draft or revise technical documentation, such as process documents, engineering work instructions, equipment manuals, appendices, or training and maintenance instructions. Produce layouts for publication.
Job Responsibilities
Design, develop and establish moderately complex data management documentation based on program requirements Coordinates the development, implementation, and maintenance of configuration management systems Participate in design reviews, audits, schedules, budgets, etc Utilize product data management tools Provide support to the Product Data Manager and engineering technical staff Responsible for regular reporting of progress and status Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of configuration management systems Support the analysis of proposed design changes to determine the effect on the overall system; may recommend methods of improvement May participate in special assignments or projects May act as liaison between functional groups Draft or revise technical documentation, such as process documents, engineering work instructions, equipment manuals, appendices, or training and maintenance instructions. Produce layouts for publication May draw sketches to illustrate specified materials or assembly sequence Edit and improve material prepared by other writers or establishment personnel Become familiar with product technologies and production methods Observe production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine assembly procedure and detail Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology Review manufacturer's and trade catalogs, drawings and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service of equipment Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
Qualifications
Relevant experience in the field of Product Data Management Basic understanding of engineering or manufacturing technical data packages Demonstrated growth regarding configuration management principles Detail oriented individual Ability to work independently under supervision of others General computer skills with developed familiarity with product data management tools Experience with CAD data systems desirable Associate's degree in engineering or related technical field (CAD data systems) Deltek Costpoint experience required
U.S. Citizenship required.
The expected pay scale for this position is $67,236/year - $96,147/year. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly. When extending an offer of employment, Leonardo DRS considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position; any Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, the candidate's relevant work experience, education/training, certifications, and key skills; internal equity; and market and business considerations.
