JOB TITLE:

LIBRARY INFORMATION TECH SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

JOB PURPOSE:

The Library Information Technology Systems Administrator administers and supports daily operational requirements of library and information computer network systems, including workstations, file servers, and web servers. Duties typically involve the installation of hardware, software, systems upgrades, network accounts, network security, web page design, interface, and updates, planning and implementing long-range automation plans, period reports, and local system design documentation. This Administrator trains staff on software applicable to their position, assists patrons with information technology, and provides instruction on computers and applications.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • provide support the Information Technology and Logistics Branch in managing all ITAM or IT assets IAW DAFMAN 17-1203, Information Technology Asset Management.
  • Support shall include, but is not limited to, data maintenance, data processing, report generating, and reconciliation of the applicable databases on ITAM assets.
  • shall support the Equipment Control Officer (ECO) for Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM)and manage the Information Technology (IT) Asset Management system, which includes but is not limited to updating accounts, updating item status, sending advanced notifications of inventory due dates (e.g., 45 days), and filing records.
  • keep a record of the location of all IT hardware assets.
  • ensure all Information Technology Property Custodians (PCs) annually conduct a complete book-to-floor/floor-to-book inventory

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have certifications/licenses as well as the capability to work with the following operations and systems:

  • Operation of vehicles to transport equipment/material
  • Computer and Administrative skills:
    • Understand filing systems, electronic filing, creating/utilizing word documents and excel spreadsheets,
    • sending/receiving/reading/replying to email and instant messages,
    • phone etiquette and taking/delivering phone messages.
  • Government Records Management processes.
    • Training is required for personnel identified by the Contractor as a Unit Records Professional.
  • General warehouse operations and safe execution of those processes. Consistent with DoD Manual 4140.70, DoD Supply Chain Material Management Procedures for Storage Handling.

EDUCATION:

  • High School or GED

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience for the position

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Active Security clearance
