Our Client in Mountain View, is looking to hire a Technical Writer to join their team. The work will be 20 hours per week for the first 2 months and then 40 hours per week for the next 4 months. This is an onsite position.
As the Engineering Services Analyst, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining document transmittals, records, and systems for Client's products.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage the distribution and tracking of Client's product documentation
- Partner cross functionally on change order generation, completeness, accuracy validation and distribution to affected parties. Collaborate with users to correct issues before routing for approvals
- Manage the change order processing life cycle stages including approval workflow, approval list, approval turnaround time, distribution matrix and implementation at supplier organizations
- Organize and drive change control board review (CCB) for change orders.
- Provide document control services as needed: Item creation, BOM creation, Change order creation per Client's practices
- Ensure documentation access and availability needs of Client's and supply chain partners are met
- Generate reports and maintain dashboard for key metrics that reflect the health of engineering services process and action detractors
- Develop, implement and follow document control processes/policies for Client's products.
- Drive to consistent application of Good Manufacturing/Documentation Practices in records maintenance
- Support Quality records creation, filing and maintenance: Corrective actions, Purges, Stop ships, factory quality reports, supplier quality reports
- Support maintenance of field quality reports and metrics: RMA, DOA etc
- Support development of quality and manufacturing process documentation
- Periodically review and collaborate on update of document control processes
- Train Client's team members and supply chain partners on document control systems and procedures
- Lead projects that are business transformational with respect to PLM system , integration and business process flows
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Associates degree in a technical field, Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred
- Over 5 years of document control/engineering services experience
- Proficient with PLM/PDM systems as Agile, Arena or Empower. Empower experience preferred. Couple years of experience in SAP ERP and PLM Software
- Sound understanding of product life cycle within a controlled document management system
- Knowledge of document control systems, Item master, bill of material structures, change order processes, engineering and manufacturing documentation types and uses
- Experience in a highly engineering centric high tech organization with completely outsourced manufacturing
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to exercise sound judgment within broadly defined practices and policies
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (excel formulars and functions likes V-lookup, Hlookup, Pivot, etc)
- Some experience as a quality analyst preferred
