Insight Global is hiring: Performance Technical Artist in California

The Avatars Technical Art team is looking for a technical artist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a technical artist, you will help build a social User Generated Content (UGC) platform where people can find people, places, and things they care about.

Responsibilities

1. Create assets, processes, tooling to validate, prototype, and implement new capabilities in partnership with cross-functional teams.
2. Implement runtime logic within a complex real-time environment with performance limitations in mind.
3. Prototype, profile and optimize custom shaders.
4. Optimize content through enhancing performance and instructing the artists and designers on asset creation, modeling, and texturing best practices.
5. Develop broad technical expertise to assist in a wide variety of technical and artistic tasks, including diagnosing and fixing bugs.
6. Quickly solve issues with cross-functional leads.
7. Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
8. Design, manage and maintain the pipeline from artists and designers through to deployment.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Demonstrated expertise at understanding inner workings of a real-time game engine (Unity, Unreal, etc).
2. 3-5 years experience with game/real-time profiling and optimization techniques.
3. 3-5 years' experience coding in C#, C++, Java or Python.
4. Experience with real-time scripting.
5. Experience shipping products with stringent runtime performance constraints, such as complex mobile or 3D applications or games.
6. Experience collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams.
7. Experience communicating across team members including engineers and artists.
8. Experience in real-time content authoring (characters/environments/VFX/animation/lighting).
9. Experience working with version control systems (Git, Perforce, etc).

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

1. Deep knowledge of low-level real-time graphics pipeline concepts.
2. Being passionate and informed about emerging technologies.
3. Self-motivated, product thinking mindset.
