Education/Experience:
- Minimum two years of experience working with live event technology is required.
- Prior academic experience, industry or manufacturer training, and certifications will be considered when selecting the right candidate for this position.
- Prior work experience, in any industry, showing ability to work as a team member with good customer service skills will also be considered.

Requirements:
- Must possess good customer service skills presenting a positive and friendly demeanor with clients, vendors, event attendees, and coworkers.
- Must have and maintain a professional personal appearance appropriate for the duties that day.
- Be able to prioritize tasks and duties while managing multiple responsibilities.
- Possess strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Be punctual, reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to communicate clearly in both verbal and written communications both internally and externally. This includes the ability to speak and write professionally with co-workers, clients, and vendors.
- Must possess skill in Microsoft Office applications, cloud-based inventory and scheduling software, basic computer networking. Additional optional skills that we value include the ability to design shows both technically and scenically and document those designs via CAD.
- Must have experience and skill working with and operating various audio-visual equipment, including a willingness and desire to add new skills as well as improve existing skills. Additional optional skills that we value include production management, labor management scheduling and budgeting, developing equipment lists and pullsheets appropriate for the scope of work, and budget of individual events.
- Be able to work well under pressure and with urgency when deadlines are tight and client needs are immediate.
- Must have a safety-first attitude working with and around AV, rigging, lifts, cable management, etc. Must adhere to the safety policies and standards of Chase Creative, partner venues, and the live events industry, and either possess or be able to obtain forklift and scissor lift safety certifications.
- Must possess a clean driving record and be able to obtain a Chauffer’s License with MDOT medical card.
- Must have good attention to detail especially when fulfilling equipment orders and meeting client expectations.
Job Duties:
- Prep and de-prep AV equipment to be setup, operated, and struck by Chase Creative and/or venue crews.
- Act as a lead technician and AV equipment operator on show sites.
- Assist sales and project management staff in the recommendation of equipment and labor specifications during the sales and pre-production phases of events.
- Quality control of AV equipment ensuring a “show ready” state prior to event setups.
- Work efficiently as well as identifying possible areas of operational improvements.
- Inventory management ensuring all packing lists and pullsheets are properly fulfilled, including coordinating with other Chase Creative warehouses for equipment transfers, repairs, and subrentals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment including equipment storage and prep areas.
- Semi-annual physical inventory counts as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
- Must be available for the flexible work schedules often required of the live events industry including nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and occasional overtime.
- Occasional work outside the Detroit metropolitan area, including overnight travel, may be required.
- Respond to emergency requests when off-duty, especially when assigned as the “on call” technician.
- Perform physical labor, including standing and walking for long periods of time, lifting equipment and objects solo (50 lbs.), heavier equipment with assistance of other workers or with assistance of lifting/rigging equipment as required.
- Travel between various locations and job sites using company provided vans, box trucks, or larger rental trucks, which may require long drives and extended hours.
- Loading and unloading (or the supervising of) audio-visual equipment in trucks and vans safely and securely. Ensuring that vehicle loads are within vehicle capabilities and DOT regulations.
- Other duties may be assigned based on production or company needs as well as employee’s growing skillsets.
