Content Manager - Legal Industry

Location: Jackson Lewis, AmLaw 100 L&E Firm

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and creative Content Manager to join our team at Jackson Lewis. This role involves managing and organizing existing content, collaborating with Writing Faculty, Attorney Trainers and Coaches, Practice Group Leaders, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop comprehensive learning materials. The Content Manager will be expected to leverage state of the art instructional design principles to create engaging and effective training resources. The Content Manager will ensure all content meets the firm’s standards for quality and excellence, aligning with the core competencies for attorneys and legal support staff.

Essential Functions

  1. Manage and organize existing legal content, ensuring it is easily accessible and up to date.
  2. Work with faculty and subject matter experts to develop quick reference guides and/or related written guides and checklists for training content.
  3. Work directly with faculty and subject matter experts to develop PowerPoint presentations, user guides, checklists, and other training materials.
  4. Create multi-faceted learning opportunities by developing engaging and informative content tailored to various audiences in a variety of formats including in-person and online.
  5. Apply instructional design principles to create effective training programs and materials.
  6. Ensure all content adheres to the firm’s standards for quality and excellence, matching the core competencies for attorneys at each career level.
  7. Work with team members, writing faculty, and attorney coaches to develop and maintain an editorial calendar to ensure timely and consistent content delivery.
  8. Conduct regular reviews and updates of content and work with faculty and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy, relevance, and compliance with legal standards.
  9. Optimize content for search engines to enhance visibility and accessibility on Workday.
  10. Use content management systems to analyze user engagement and content performance metrics.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills Required

  1. Proven experience as a Content Manager, preferably in the legal industry.
  2. Strong background in instructional design and experience creating educational materials.
  3. Proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint, and familiarity with content management systems.
  4. Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  5. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  6. Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

  1. Understanding of labor and employment law.
  2. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  3. Familiarity with e-learning platforms and instructional design software and HRIS tracking systems including Synthesia and Workday.

Educational Requirements

  1. A degree in Instructional Design or a related field is preferred.

Salary Range

For California, the expected salary range for this position is between $112,500 and $142,500. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
