The Image Editor – Asset Management position will be responsible for editing, organizing, and maintaining a comprehensive digital asset library for Buckle merchandise and for the Ecommerce store on Buckle.com. The Teammate in this role will collaborate with creative teams, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all visual assets meet Buckle standards and project requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Image Editing and Retouching

  • Edit, retouch, and optimize images for various platforms, including web, social media, print, and marketing campaigns.
  • Ensure consistency in color, tone, and quality across all assets.
  • Review photography options and select the best quality images, while enhancing and editing photography as needed for online Ecommerce presentation.
  • Perform advanced tasks such as compositing, masking, and background removal when required.

Asset Management

  • Organize, catalog, and maintain Buckle’s digital asset management system.
  • Tag and label images appropriately to enable easy search and retrieval.
  • Ensure all assets are stored securely and adhere to copyright and licensing regulations.
  • Work closely with photographers, designers, and various teams within marketing to ensure alignment on project goals and deadlines.
  • Explore and present ideas and new techniques for improving the quality and efficiency of Buckle.com image production.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for outsourced editing or asset contributions.

Quality Control

  • Review final assets to ensure they meet Buckle guidelines and technical specifications.
  • Identify and resolve issues such as poor resolution, color inconsistencies, or improper file formats.
  • Oversee the quality assurance of product published to the web (Buckle.com and Intranet).
  • Once all editing is complete, save the images and turn product sheets and merchandise over to the Administrative Team for Quality Assurance (QA) and final set up on Buckle.com.

Process Improvement

  • Develop and maintain best practices for asset management and editing workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Research digital photography and lighting techniques and continue to develop Buckle’s in-house photo studio operation, advancing knowledge and technical applications.
  • Research and propose recommendations for new and upgraded studio equipment.

General

  • Fulfill mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team spirit.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to operate a motor vehicle and complete errands based on business needs.

While performing the duties of this job, the Teammate regularly works in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
