On site position with schedule flexibility to support product development operations for first and/or second shift. Typically, 07:30 to 17:30 time frame with possibility of remote work in special situations.
Primary Functions
- Creates and modifies customer assembly and operation instructions (IFU – Information for Users).
- Creates and modifies artwork for labels or product brochures.
- CAD file creation to mock medical devices and accessories.
Secondary Functions
- Researches, develops, designs, plans, and tests mechanical and electromechanical products and systems.
- Supports activities involved in development, fabrication, operation, application, installation, repair, and change of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems.
- Provides technical and manufacturing support to purchasing, receiving, quality assurance, quality control, EPM (machine shop), ELP (assembly), configuration management, and shipping departments as well as suppliers.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Creates and modifies artwork needed for labels, brochures, and customer assembly and operation instructions (IFU – Information for Users) using CAD models for GCX products and customer devices.
- Researches and analyzes data, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or applications.
- Directs and coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
- Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for design data processing and for developing alternative designs.
- Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research/testing; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; working with suppliers and internal machine shops, and soliciting observations from operators.
- Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished-product and process capabilities, establishing standards, and validating and/or verifying manufacturing processes.
- Develop positive relationships and work closely with functional managers to create, manage, and implement ongoing verification plans.
- Act as consultant to the Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering organizations to improve Quality and Manufacturing processes including changes to processes and products, including engineering and supplier changes and product transfers.
- Support product designs as it relates to the manufacturability of the product.
- Facilitate the successful launch of new products.
- Resolve any manufacturing and supplier quality concerns.
- Technical reviewer for engineering documents, test reports, Information for Users, and engineering changes.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from a recognized university.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Engineering in a manufacturing environment with CNC machined components, sheet metal components, finishing over fabricated parts like powder coat, anodize, vinyl coats, and plating processes.
- Experience and skills over CAD software (CREO parametric (ProE) or SolidWorks is desired but not required).
- Experience and skills over Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop or similar graphics designing software.
- Bilingual, English/Spanish.
- Self-motivated leader able to operate with a fair degree of self-direction.

- Basic knowledge of material and tools for CNC machining and sheet metal processes.
- Basic knowledge of GD&T, drawing interpretations for CNC machined components, sheet metal components, and assemblies.
- Developing work holding fixtures to improve assembly processes.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments and machines (hardness, geometry, surface, CMM report interpretation).
- Experience in working with small groups.
