Introduction
The Library Department is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst to transform complex data into meaningful insights that drive decision-making. This critical role will shape the library’s future by making data accessible and understandable for diverse stakeholders, enhancing services for the community we serve.

Position Overview
In this role, you will manage, analyze, and interpret data for key library and City reports while ensuring the information is understandable for a variety of audiences. From budget analysis to creating impactful data visualizations, your work will support stakeholders, including the Library Board, City leadership, Foundation Friends, and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Data Reporting and Analysis: Collect and convert data into meaningful insights for City, State, and WCCLS reporting.
  2. Stakeholder Collaboration: Present findings to non-technical audiences, ensuring accessibility and clarity for stakeholders, such as the Library Board, City leadership, and the community.
  3. Survey Development: Design and analyze surveys to gather feedback and improve services.
  4. Budget Support: Conduct budget analyses and provide financial insights to support decision-making.
  5. Tool Utilization: Leverage tools like MS Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and SQL to create detailed reports and visualizations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Data Science, Statistics, or Information Management.
  • Experience: Four years of related experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications: A valid, current Driver’s License and a safe driving record are required. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential duties will also be considered.

What We’re Looking For
We’re searching for a professional who thrives on solving complex problems and communicating results clearly. The ideal candidate brings:

  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel (required).
  • Experience with Power BI or Tableau for creating visualizations (required).
  • Proficiency in SQL for managing and analyzing data (required).
  • Knowledge or experience in budget analysis (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills to convey data insights to non-technical audiences.
  • The ability to design surveys (preferred, but not required).

Knowledge of public libraries and experience with data privacy practices are valuable but not required.

Work Schedule
This position is in-person, with work hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
