UX Designer
AssuranceAmerica is seeking a UX Designer to join our growing ranks as we continue to transform the way technology impacts the insurance business. You will help shape the digital presence of AssuranceAmerica: incorporating modern design sensibilities, ensuring brand consistency, and equipping our development team for execution. You will have the opportunity to build a best-in-industry user experience and delight our customers.
About the ROLE
Each day at AssuranceAmerica is different, but as UX Designer in Information Technology, you will:
- Troubleshoot and craft design solutions for business needs and development limitations. Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to develop high-level marketing ideas for products and initiatives.
- Research competitors and complementary companies to gain insights into user experience design; leverage those insights to improve our design, filling market gaps and creating products that provide superior experience.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure core user functionality, and participate in discussions to continually improve that functionality.
- Build and maintain user personas for use in informing design decisions and illustrating use-cases.
- Build wireframes and prototypes, iterating based upon user feedback, rendering issues, and bugs.
- Create simple, user-friendly designs that provide positive user experience.
- Create and collaborate with content writers and illustrators to craft text and imagery that is consistent with branding guidelines, user personas, and overall tone.
- Provide front-end specifications and assets for designs, including markup for UI components; contribute to component libraries to ensure developers understand how UI elements look and behave, guaranteeing consistency across platforms.
- Identify and correct weaknesses in designs, including rendering issues, navigability, and formatting; collect and distribute data regarding usability to identify weaknesses in user experience and navigational flow.
- Assist in refining markup where needed, working with developers to ensure code changes are properly tested and merged.
- Assist in supplemental coding as needed by developers.
Requirements
About YOU
- Detail oriented
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Required
- 2+ years of experience in similar UX-centric roles
- Experience with user flow tooling, such as Miro or Visio.
- Experience with wireframing tools, such as Figma, InDesign, Sketch, or Adobe XD
Preferred
- Flexbox and Grid
- CSS frameworks and preprocessors (SASS)
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- May be required to work on-call during large-scale releases.
