NATURE AND SCOPE:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Brand and Creative Services, the Manager of Creative Services is a key member of the Marketing and Communications team, providing both traditional and digital creative support to advance the YMCA's mission.

The ideal candidate should be visually creative, a self-starter, and possess strong organizational and project management skills. The ability to shift quickly between "thinking" and "doing" across multiple projects-from concept to completion-is essential. We are looking for a collaborative team player who can work effectively in a dynamic environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

  • Develop creative materials for membership and program promotion, advertising for paid media, digital marketing, sports partnerships, and event collateral. Materials will include Print, Digital and Animation/Video that adhere to YMCA Brand Guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to conceptualize design visuals based on job outlines.
  • Manage and optimize online templating software.
  • Prepare rough design drafts and present ideas, receive constructive feedback and work collaboratively to enhance the final product.
  • Stay up to date on new design apps and software introduced within the department.
  • Ensure consistency of design across traditional and digital platforms.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in arts, design, marketing, or a related field and 3+ years of graphic design experience OR high school diploma and 5+ years of graphic design experience
  • Proficiency in animation and short video design/editing through Adobe After Effects
  • General understanding of marketing strategy and how to effectively target appropriate audiences through designed assets
  • Strong design experience, demonstrated through a creative portfolio. Interview will include a review of some key portfolio case studies
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with all members of the MarCom team
  • Strong technical skills and solid knowledge of design principles
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage time and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and complete projects on tight deadlines in a self-motivated and prioritized manner
  • Must be able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work within deadlines on multiple projects
  • Ability to learn new marketing software platforms and adapt to a rapidly changing industry
  • Excellent spelling and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe After Effects, in a Mac-based environment
  • Hybrid work schedule. 3 days in office, 2 days remote
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of graphic design experience
  • Agency experience is highly desirable
  • Spanish-speaking ability is a plus.
  • Experience with Marq and Drupal is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft apps and SharePoint within a Teams environment is helpful but not required.
