Summary of Position

The Unscripted Development Department is seeking a Unscripted Development intern. The intern will work directly with the Development team to help create and develop unscripted series that will be pitched directly to Buyers.

Experience with social media, google drive, and a passion for great storytelling is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop original concepts based on IP, real world or on-line trends, or buyer's mandates.
  • Collaborate with the department assistant to manage team brainstorm agendas.
  • Monitor weekly industry trends, sales, and breaking to report to the team.
  • Track pitch feedback from network and streamers.
  • Research emerging new talent and phenomenon from social media platforms.
  • Identify celebrity talent for on camera opportunities.
  • Use Google Drive to write creative decks in docs and manage tracking grids in sheets.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursing a degree in Communications, Production Design, Video Production, Directing, or similar.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • In-depth working knowledge of Instagram and Tik Tok.
  • Basic knowledge of Google Drive and Microsoft office and Keynote or Photoshop.
  • Candidate should be prepared to pitch an original show concept in the final week of the internship to the team using an original creative deck.
  • Position is remote with the option to go to the office

Program Dates: Tuesday, June 10th - Friday, August 15th, 2025 (10 Weeks)

All interns are required to attend orientation on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025.

Details
  • Interns must not work more than 36 hours per week
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
  • Interns must be current rising juniors through recent grads (within 6 months of internship start date)
  • Graduate students are eligible to apply
  • Interns must be available to work for the entire length of the program
  • All internships are paid
  • Lionsgate Alternative internship positions will be remote

Business Unit Overview

The Unscripted Development Department team at Lionsgate ideates, creates, and sells limited documentaries, specials, and series to Network and Streaming buyers. Our team handles 3rd party partnerships, casting, non-airing development production execution, pitches and talent relations. We build relationships with our counterparts at Networks, Streamers, and Talent and Management Agencies to insure we have the latest industry insight in order to be as successful as possible in selling the next hit reality series.

Compensation

$18 per hour
