Position Summary: The Audio Visual Supervisor will design, maintain, troubleshoot, and install Audio Visual Systems, security and surveillance systems, UPS systems, and Access Control Systems. In addition to being lead technician, this person is also responsible for managing other staff and student staff positions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, maintain, troubleshoot, and install Audio Visual, security and surveillance systems, and Conferencing systems.
  • Manage and train the Campus Audio Visual team.
  • Uphold Avixa standards and best practices on all applicable systems.
  • Oversee and provide training to the other technicians.
  • Project Manager for audio visual projects which includes coordinating with outside vendors.
  • Manage network and AV closet UPSs.
  • Manage Digital Signage System.
  • Help maintain and troubleshoot all electronic equipment on campus, as needed.
  • Maintain technical proficiency through continuing formal and self-training.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of basic electronics.
  • Ability to read and interpret document plans and schematics.
  • Strong communication and customer skills, written and verbal.
  • Aptitude to learn new technologies.
  • Willingness to stay with a project through to completion.
  • Ability to function with frequent interruptions.
  • Good diagnostic, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
