Overview
National multidisciplinary design firm is seeking a talented Landscape Designer to join their Milwaukee or Minneapolis office. The team is currently seeking an experienced landscape designer with a strong focus on quality design who will develop relevant, sustainable, and inspirational environments tailored to the unique opportunity requirements. The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills which will be utilized on integrated project teams of professionals across the firm on various project types and business development ventures. The company's portfolio focuses on projects that are strongly tied to architectural design with a focus on urban design, environmental planning, active and passive recreation, trails and greenways, as well as government, campus and institutional work, streetscapes, livable town center redevelopment and regional parks.
The firm has 12 offices all around the world focusing on healthcare, arts and culture, community, corporate, education, and government projects. Recently, the firm won the prestigious American Architecture Award for Museums and Cultural Building, along with IIDA Healthcare Design Award.
Responsibilities
- Provides the Landscape Architecture Department with design, graphic and production support.
- Works within a project team to execute a designated phase of selected project in a manner that is responsive to the client’s needs and deadlines consistent with company procedures, standards and quality expectations.
- Compiles and analyzes data on site conditions such as geographic location, soil, vegetation, and natural features; drainage and location of structures.
- Develops design concepts according to parameters defined by the project team.
- Prepares site plans, construction drawings, specifications and cost estimates for land development, showing grading contours, vegetation and location of structures and facilities.
- Maintains ongoing communication to understand any project changes, design issues or time/budget constraints that may impact initial assignment.
- Makes an on-going effort to demonstrate competency in landscape architecture with the goal of achieving Landscape Architecture licensure.
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have:
- Bachelor of Landscape Architecture required, Master of Landscape Architecture preferred
- One to five years landscape architecture/design related experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe and Microsoft Office Suites required
- Currently working towards Landscape Architecture license
- Experience with Revit preferred
- Desire to learn and collaborate in a high energy environment
