This position works in a multi-level male correctional facility as the only Librarian and has sole responsibility for establishment, operation and maintenance of the institution's general and law library for prisoners. As a Professional Librarian, you will maintain the library schedule, supervise the institution's general and law library for prisoners, supervise the prisoner clerk, and provide acquisitions and collection building, technical services, reference, and circulation services. You will establish goals for the library, write operation procedures for library services, manage the library budget, and perform all other professional work needed to develop, implement, improve, and maintain a State Agency's Library Program.

Education
Possession of a master's degree in library science. Please attach a copy of your official college transcript to this application.
Experience
Librarian 12
- Three years of professional experience providing librarian services equivalent to a Librarian, including one year equivalent to a Librarian P11.

New hires to the MDOC, along with previous MDOC employees that are returning after being away from the department for more than two years, will complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET), either 40 hours or 80 hours of initial in-person training based on their level of offender contact and job classification. All new employees will complete additional online training to successfully complete their non-custody new employee training.
