Minimum Qualifications
An ALA-accredited master’s degree in librarianship/information science or foreign equivalent, or a terminal degree in a related field.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director for the Miller Learning Center and Student Success, the Student Success Librarian will utilize user needs assessment methods to cultivate welcoming, meaningful, and inclusive connections with students and student groups across campus. They will work collaboratively with co-curricular units and departments on campus to identify and develop sustainable, high-impact initiatives that engage and support student learning.
Duties/Responsibilities
Instruction
- Actively engage with faculty to help teach First Year Odyssey courses and First Year Writing seminars about what the library offers.
- Create multimodal information resources and asynchronous learning activities.
- Develop assessment plans to learn about success of programs and ways to enhance them.
Outreach & Engagement Efforts
- Establish and execute a plan for regularly engaging with students and library/campus partners.
- Lead and/or coordinate workshops, programs, and events that support student success.
- Develop communication and marketing tactics tailored to primary audiences.
Professional Engagement
- Contribute to appropriate library and system-wide committees and working groups.
- Attend professional meetings, workshops and conferences for training and continued professional development.
