Job Summary: The Library Public Services Assistant assists patrons in the use of the library and its resources. Creates, edits, and maintains records in the library's online database system. Supports various library units depending upon the department assigned, including reserves and current periodicals, circulation, interlibrary loan, acquisitions, and government documents. Obtains and lends materials outside the University campus. Provides routine library facilities and equipment support. May supervise student workers.
Additional Department Summary: Responsible for opening Bruno Library on Fridays and other days as needed, maintaining the various types of equipment used by the public, coordinating repair requests, submitting Jira tickets for the Bruno public computers, managing LibCal for Bruno, and inputting library hours on the website. Manages 3D print requests, assists with processing Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery requests, and is responsible for Bruno digital signs and social media (Facebook and Twitter). Assists the Librarians with Stem to MBA and the Bruno and Rodgers YouTube channels. Responsible for the maintenance of the business library's annual reports, periodicals, reference, RDS, and general book collections. Assists with directing student assistants at the first-floor circulation desk, has weekly chat hours, and assists with night and weekend rotation in Bruno, Gorgas, and Rodgers Libraries, along with other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of library experience; OR associate's degree or higher and some library experience.
