Job Title: Instructor Pool - Multimedia Design
Division Information
The Division of the Arts is seeking to hire a skilled Part-Time educator with a passion for teaching and content expertise in multimedia design, motion graphics, video production, digital animation, and/or digital photography courses.
Lane Community College Media Arts Department invites applications for a part-time faculty position to teach courses in Multimedia Design, a Career-Technical degree and certificate program. The ideal candidate will have expertise in two or more of the following: Motion Graphics, Audio Production, Video Production, Digital Animation, Web Design, Graphic Design, Digital Photography. Additional knowledge of digital photography, video pre and post-production, audio production, storyboarding, layout, concept art, or other time-based Multimedia Design fields and technologies is a plus. Candidates should possess student-centered, collaborative, and dynamic teaching skills for CTE and transfer courses and an interest in effectively serving diverse populations. Candidates are expected to demonstrate evidence of a strong professional record as an industry or creative professional, and fluency in production and post-production with current software and hardware technologies.

- Beyond the required education and experience, instructors must have a passion for what they teach and have teaching styles that support student success. Instructors are responsible for following Division and College procedures in support of teaching and learning.

Working Schedule:
Classes as assigned by the Division Dean based on need, enrollment, and availability of contracted and/or more senior part-time faculty.
Faculty schedule and hours determined by division, department, staff and student needs, and may fall outside of normal business working hours and days.
Associate’s Degree in Media Arts, Multimedia Design, New Media, Digital Arts, Arts & Technology, or other closely related fields from a regionally accredited institution.

Position Purpose:
LCC is looking to expand our pool of potential instructors for Spring 2025 and beyond
Faculty members are professional educators with the primary responsibilities of providing instruction and academic student support services respectfully, equitably, and inclusively to a diverse, multicultural, and multilingual student population, and professional activities contributing to the college, in alignment with Lane’s Vision, Mission, and Values .
This position performs the duties of an educator and college instructor including: instruction of college courses in multiple modalities as assigned, which may include both in-person and online environments; curriculum development and course design; outcomes assessment and program review; mentoring students; professional development; participation in discipline leadership, division and college business; and other professional duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Support student learning through activities that include:
- Exhibit compliance with College policies and procedures, accountability for leave time, timesheet completion, release time, textbook ordering and related functions
- Sustain currency in discipline and innovation in teaching
- Collegial participation in faculty performance evaluation process
- Maintain and post teaching schedule, regular meetings and office hours
- Maintain requirements for student records, attendance, grades, and/or other documentation; ensure a safe, quality classroom or lab, including equipment, supplies, and inventory
- Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students

- Create course content, develop and revise course content and materials
- Establish learning outcomes consistent with core ability outcomes, assess outcomes using appropriate assessment tools, and use assessment results to inform improvements at a program and course level

- Teach and develop all class syllabi and course materials, in a form that can be directly delivered to, and used by, students

Supervision Statement:
Faculty report to a Division Dean, and perform instructional and professional duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the college.
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
This position works in varied environments. May be exposed to usual office, industry, education, and commercial working conditions that include noises, interruptions, equipment, telephones, and visitors. This position requires that an employee be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. May perform cognitive and psychometric work for more than six (6) hours a day. Work may require transporting materials up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Work Safely.
