Shea Communications is seeking a freelance public relations specialist to support media outreach, pitching, and press release writing. This role is ideal for an experienced PR professional with a proven track record of securing press coverage in real estate, business, and trade publications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for proactively securing media coverage, and writing and distributing press releases.

This is a freelance, hybrid opportunity. Candidates with real estate PR experience are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute media outreach strategies to secure earned media for clients.
• Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and pitches to relevant outlets.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists and editors in real estate, business, and trade publications.
• Create and maintain targeted media lists to support pitching efforts.
• Stay informed on industry trends and media opportunities.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of PR experience in an agency, in-house, or journalism role.
• Strong media pitching skills and a network of relevant journalist contacts.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, particularly in crafting press releases and pitches.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple accounts.
• Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
