Summary/Objective:
The Manager is responsible for promoting a positive, inclusive, and compliant work environment by addressing employee concerns and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws. This role involves conducting in-depth investigations and providing expert guidance on employee issues. It requires strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, along with a thorough understanding of employment laws and human resources practices.
This is a hybrid role, requiring the Manager to work onsite at least 2 days per week. Additionally, the Manager must be flexible to work at our other office locations as needed.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Conduct thorough investigations and collaborate with People & Culture managers to provide recommendations and take appropriate actions.
- Advise supervisors on employee performance management, counseling, and corrective actions.
- Provide guidance and support to employees regarding workplace issues, policies, and procedures.
- Develop and analyze metrics related to employee relations to monitor trends and identify areas for improvement.
- Offer expert advice and support to People & Culture managers on employee relations best practices.
- Assist in evaluating and enhancing People & Culture employee relations policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and thorough investigatory files and reports and appropriately work with other internal departments as needed.
- Assist in union-related work.
- Act with a high degree of integrity and ensure cases are handled fairly, consistently, transparently, timely, and comprehensively.
- Maintain absolute discretion and confidentiality at all times.

- A bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field is preferred. Examples of related fields include Psychology, Business Administration, and Organizational Management; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the bachelor’s degree.
- At least 2 - 3 years of work experience in Human Resources with a focus on employee relations.
- Proven experience and understanding of workplace investigations, unions, and labor relations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of employment and human resources practices, procedures, and laws, involving performance management, corrective action, and progressive discipline including termination of employment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to write concise reports.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to remain collaborative and objective while under pressure.
- Demonstrated work experience in problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to self-manage and self-direct multiple competing priorities.
- Ability to multitask while working in an environment with demanding timeframes and competing interests.

Compensation: The expected salary for this role is $75,000. The actual base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
