Title: Specialist II, Video Production
The Video Production Specialist II promotes the DeKalb County School District by assisting and sustaining efforts to communicate the school district to internal and external audiences.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with installing, monitoring, and maintaining sound and video equipment, including speakers, microphones, video cameras, and lights, for scheduled productions or broadcasts for DeKalb Schools TV (DSTV) and District-wide events.
- Assist with diagnosing and resolving media system problems; constructing and positioning properties, sets, lighting equipment, and other equipment; designing layouts of audio and video equipment and performing upgrades and maintenance.
- Store equipment properly and perform minor repairs and routine cleaning of audio and video equipment. Notify supervisors when major equipment repairs and updates are needed.
- Provide administrative and organizational support to senior production and communications staff prior to, during, and after production for TV programs and events.
- Capture content in schoolhouses and craft positive narratives through video storytelling.
- Support with multimedia duties such as photography, editing, and social media coverage for on-air and social platforms consistent with the DSTV style standard and branding.
- Provide videography, and assist manager and coordinator with producing, and directing effective programming consistent with the goals of DSTV and the vision of the District for digital platforms and on-air.
- Support Coordinator with programming DeKalb Schools TV.
- Edit content and support contractors with editing videos for on-air and social media.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- An Associate's degree in video production or a closely related field from a college or university accredited by a Professional Standards Commission is required.
- In lieu of an Associate's degree, a minimum of five (5) years of closely related experience may be considered.
