Position Description

Your Opportunity:

TechSource is hiring a full-time staff augmentation Senior Design Specialist to provide support at the Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility (SRPPF) at the Savannah River Site (SRS) with the Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS), under the Department of Energy (DoE). The anticipated work Schedule is 6:45 am - 5:15 pm, Monday - Thursday

Duration of the Contract:

  • One (1) year with the option to extend for two (2) additional one (1) year option years.
  • Option Periods are not guaranteed and are executed at the discretion of the Hiring Manager

Estimated Hours Per Year: 2080 ST / 400 OT

Work Schedule: 7am-5:30pm, Monday through Thursday. Schedule is negotiable but will remain as four, ten-hour shifts.

Remote or onsite: 100% Onsite

Requirements

- An associates degree in a technical discipline and at least 10 - 12 years work experience or 12 - 16 years of practical work experience. - Candidate must demonstrate 10 years of experience as a Plant Designer, including experience with site layouts, piping layouts, electrical commodity details, HVAC duct and equipment layouts, material handling, and vendor document reviews.

- Significant experience using Hexagon's S3D software, Piping, Equipment and HVAC modules is required. Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards for design such as ASME B31.3 and NFPA 101 is required.

- Candidate must be able to perform field walk-downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed.

Preferred

-Possession of an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years is preferred.

-Formal training in Computer Aided Design or 3D modeling is preferred.

-Previous SRS Design Engineering or DOE facility experience is preferred.
