As a member of Tanium's Brand and Corporate Marketing team, the Back-End Developer reports to the Web Architect to maintain legacy code and build out new features and functionality for Tanium websites. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in WordPress, as well as a deep understanding of Object-Oriented PHP and SQL.

This is a hybrid position, which will require in-person attendance several days each week in one of the following locations: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; Emeryville, CA; or Reston, VA.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with a distributed team of front-end developers, content managers, and designers
  • Build new features and functionality for Tanium websites
  • Maintain and update existing components and libraries
  • Write secure, reusable code for WordPress and proprietary web architectures
  • Optimize legacy code for scalability and efficiency
  • Recognize, identify, and patch vulnerabilities in the code

We're looking for someone with:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience using PHP
  • At least 3 years of WordPress back-end work
  • Practical experience with Object-Oriented Programming
  • Significant database experience, preferably with MySQL
  • Functional knowledge of REST APIs
  • Thorough experience with Git
  • Preferred but not required: React, Regex, Gulp, XSS, SSRF, SQL Injection

    • Written and oral communication skills: ability to write memos, letters, and reports in clear, concise fashion with appropriate vocabulary, grammar, and word usage.

What you'll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $70,000 to $215,000. In addition to an annual base salary, team members will receive equity awards and a generous benefits package.
