Job Title: UX/UI Designer
Location: North Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Contract Type: Contract

Myticas's direct client, based in North Chicago, IL, is seeking a talented UX/UI Designer for a hybrid, contract position. This role will focus on designing intuitive, enterprise-level applications with multiple complex screens, as well as mobile application interfaces. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in user-centered design processes, including UX research and wireframing, and practical UI design skills, particularly with Figma. If you excel at transforming abstract requirements into user-friendly, visually engaging interfaces, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • User-Centered Design: Conduct user research, define requirements, ideate solutions, and rapidly prototype.
  • High-Fidelity Prototyping & UI Development: Design and refine UI solutions in Figma, ensuring pixel-perfect accuracy for enterprise and mobile applications.
  • Wireframing & Mockups: Develop low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design solutions to stakeholders and team members.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Partner closely with project managers, software engineers, and other UX designers to ensure seamless handoff of design specifications and uphold design quality throughout implementation.
  • UX Research & Testing: Plan and conduct user research (e.g., interviews, usability testing, surveys), analyze findings, and iterate designs based on user insights.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Translate business requirements into compelling user journeys; present design rationale and gather feedback from leadership and diverse client groups.
  • Autonomy & Initiative: Take ownership of design tasks, manage workloads independently, and contribute innovative ideas to elevate the user experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, UI Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools (e.g., Sketch, Adobe XD).
  • Experience with UX research methodologies, including usability testing, user interviews, and surveys, as well as design thinking principles.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork with stakeholders, project managers, and software engineers.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in fast-paced enterprise environments with multiple, complex screens and workflows.
