The Role:

LaunchX has a small but mighty marketing team that operates both in-person and virtually during our summer program. This paid internship reports to the Marketing and Brand Manager and is expected to be completed in person at one of our university locations. With a focus on photography, social media management, and media editing, this role will help maintain the LaunchX brand through compelling content.
Commitment:

This position will be a full-time temporary role. Videographer/Photographer interns will actively engage with LaunchX sessions throughout the day, reporting to the Marketing and Brand Manager. A genuine enthusiasm for mastering new photography technology and editing tools, paired with a talent for capturing meaningful moments and a deep passion for visual storytelling through videography and photography, is essential.

Please note: LaunchX aims to hire one individual to support both university locations. All necessary transportation and training for both sites will be provided.

Bay Area Entrepreneurship Program:

Program Dates: July 13 - August 9, 2025

Training Dates: July 6 - July 12, 2025

Departure Date: August 9, 2025

LaunchX will pay for and coordinate all travel, rooming, and boarding for the selected intern.

While not engaged in sessions with students (primarily mornings, evenings, and weekends), interns are free to explore and enjoy the city, representing LaunchX responsibly during their personal time.
Responsibilities:
Photography and Videography
  • Capture key moments from events and activities both in and out of the classroom.
  • Distill visual content for marketing materials, including the website and other promotional channels.
  • Record and edit testimonials to highlight participant experiences.
  • Take professional-quality team photos and individual headshots of all Launchies and the LaunchX team.
Content Creation (Optional)
  • Create social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, to maintain an engaging online presence.
  • Take photos and collaborate with students to curate dynamic, relevant content.
  • Create blog posts by developing original content and leveraging contributions from current and past students, working closely with the Marketing Coordinator.
Cross-Functional Support
  • Assist with event logistics and special projects as needed to support program and team goals.
Requirements
    • Portfolio Submission: Each applicant must submit a portfolio of their video and photography work showcasing their skills and experience.
    • Goal-oriented and Adaptable: Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals while remaining flexible and creative in addressing challenges that arise in an on-site environment.
    • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong ability to engage with diverse stakeholders in person.
    • Organizational Abilities: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and logistics effectively in an on-site program.
    • Teamwork and Independence: Comfortable working both autonomously and collaboratively within a team setting, especially in a dynamic, in-person program environment.
    • Proven experience in design and social media management, with a keen eye for creating engaging content.
    • Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
    • Skilled in photography and videography, with the ability to capture high-quality visuals that align with brand goals.
    • A collaborative mindset, with the confidence to ask for guidance when needed and the eagerness to grow and expand expertise.
    • Must successfully pass a background check
    • Must currently live within the United States and have a United States bank account
    • Must be 18+ years of age
Compensation

This is an intern-level paid position with a compensation of $15 USD per hour or the local minimum wage, whichever is higher.
