Civic Media has built a state-wide radio and digital media network in Wisconsin with the goal of championing the practice of democracy by empowering honest and informative local voices. We’re merging the legacy of radio with the immediacy of digital to deliver high-quality content to a growing audience via our 20 radio stations, websites, mobile app and associated social media platforms. SUMMARY

Civic Media is seeking to hire motivated radio producers to join our growing network. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, understand broadcast media, and have an interest in current events. You would join a local broadcast team that works together to bring important news and meaningful stories to Wisconsinites. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to expand their broadcasting knowledge with an up-and-coming radio and digital network. The positions can be full-time or part-time with a core schedule of 11:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Our ideal candidate would have previous broadcasting experience and is able to think on their feet. Additionally, the Producer should be resourceful and find creative avenues to help increase awareness of the Civic Media brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for producing live regularly scheduled radio programming
  • Monitors and contributes to breaking news stories
  • Managing audio for distribution on broadcast and digital platforms
  • Will publish promotional materials from general programming content

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 years’ experience working in broadcast or digital media organizations
  • Proficiency in audio editing and sound mixing
  • Background in journalism and keen interest in current events, news, and politics
  • Knowledge of Wisconsin’s regional and political landscape
  • Advanced skills in audio editing software
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • Sharp attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to travel (~25%)
