Base pay range $120,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr About the Company Our client is a leading American conservative digital media organization with increased attention and popularity given its innovative approach with today’s technology, social media, and creative content. The organization educates millions of Americans about the traditional values and knowledge. As the organization continues to scale, it is looking for a creative and driven leader to join their growing Children’s division, which dedicates to bringing parents and educators the resources, support, and tools to teach children about America’s blessings and limitless opportunities through the concept of “edutainment”. It takes a unique approach in providing supplemental educational material for children, all of which is non-partisan in nature. About the position: This is a hands-on leadership role that will work closely with the Creative and Production elements of the Children’s Division and report to the CEO. The ideal candidate will bring extensive creative development experience, a strong production foundation, and the ability to develop new product lines that fall within the “edutainment” angle. The candidate must have proven interest and experience in children’s content/education with a strong understanding of the target market. This role is onsite Monday to Friday at the organization’s Head office in Greater Los Angeles. The selected candidate will be asked to provide work samples and complete creative case studies. Responsibilities:
Bridge the gap between the Education team and the Production team. Understand and contribute to education content, and devise how best to present it using appropriate resources and limited budgets. Understand children programming and how to present educational topics within specific age ranges while working closely with leadership and show producers. Learn from educators how to best teach a topic, and channel into visual mediums. Write scripts, creative briefs, show bibles, SOP’s, and more. Understand company goals and project goals and help set and maintain “north stars” as projects move through development and into production. Develop show ideas as well as organizing and developing ideas from others. Move macro ideas into detailed development stages. Work closely with producers on translating creative into the execution phase while guiding show development into acceptable scope ranges with an understanding of resources and processes. Deliver within tight deadlines and changing priorities and hold team members accountable to deadlines and expectations. Master the organization’s brand and philosophies, from big-picture thinking to creative objectives to process standards. Inspire and galvanize team members in a growing company landscape with moving goal posts. Qualifications:
More than 5 years of creative development experience, including strong writing abilities and foundation in production processes. Knowledge of the children’s educational landscape and how to effectively create content for children, such as live action, anime, and books. Demonstrated ability to ensure content is tailored to young audiences in an age-appropriate manner, balancing education and entertainment. Superior communication skills, especially in regard to communicating ideas to non-industry personnel. Capabilities and willingness to adhere to established processes and structures, including working closely with Heads of Production and show producers to maintain consistency. Leadership and collaboration skills with internal production staff and other departments. Can manage down, up and across the organization. Top-notch organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize appropriately, and be flexible in an extremely fast-paced environment. A true Team Player, proactive, helpful, honest, and calm under pressure. This is a no-ego environment where no task is too small. Ability to work with startup-type-hustle and not overcomplicate. Flexible and able to “roll with the punches” within an ever-changing game plan, and able to problem-solve on the fly.
