Position Overview:
Client is looking for a Technical Designer to join the Women's RTW team with a focus on woven and soft woven garments.
Position Overview: This is a pivotal role within the company, ensuring that the style intent is translated and the quality of our garments is maintained from sampling through production. Ideal candidates will have strong communication and problem-solving skills in order to successfully work alongside Design, PD, Production, Sales, Merch, and Atelier teams internally as well as overseas vendor partners.
Responsibilities: Attend style handoff meetings with design during development stage to understand style intent, material placement, and trim details Create and launch construction pages and tech packs, establishing garment measurements and design features Work with designers and pattern makers to support technical construction and finishing suggestions Spec samples prior to fittings, and coordinate pre-fit when timing allows Be prepared to suggest corrections needed to support both product integrity and design intent Manage digitizing and printing patterns as needed Assess and approve vendor suggested grading Communicate closely with PD and Production teams to prioritize workload according to development and bulk deadlines Coordinate fitting schedule with internal team members and fit model agency Prepare weekly sample shipments to overseas vendors Monitor quality of garments through reviewing TOP samples and attending regular store visits to review and measure items to make sure they are meeting standards Exceptional written and verbal communication to relay clear instructions for pattern makers, both local and overseas Capacity to work collaboratively across design, PD, production, merchandising, and sales teams Strong organizational and time management skills to understand and honor deadlines Ability to maintain composure while working with a sense of urgency
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree, with 2-5 years of related work experience- advanced contemporary experience is a MUST Proficiency in Gerber Accumark
