Primary Purpose We are seeking a talented designer to join our Experience Design team. A successful candidate will be a collaborative and eager contributor, execute with excellence, and lead product prototyping and UX design work. This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced team, think holistically about design and change the current grocery landscape.
Duties and Responsibilities Applies user centered design methods to design elegant, simple and intuitive solutions that align business goals and user needs. Advocates for the customer throughout the product lifecycle. Conducts remote user research to validate concepts and design decisions. Collaborates and coordinates with design peers to deliver a consistent and cohesive user experience across our digital platforms. Presents the work to various audiences and can clearly articulate rationale behind design decisions. Delivers wireframes, flows, high fidelity comps, and front-end annotations. Documents expected transitions, animations, and micro-interactions through prototypes as needed. Delivers final designs adhering to brand standards, WCAG 2.0, and internal design system. Works with scrum teams to execute the work and to ensure designs are implemented as intended. Seeks to continuously improve the customer experience by considering market analysis, customer feedback, usage analytics, stakeholder input, and design research insights.
Qualifications At least 1 year of experience in an ecommerce or digital agency as a product designer, user experience designer, interaction designer, or similar role. Proficient using design and prototyping tools such as Figma. Experience working in an agile environment. Experience working with design research, interpreting findings and acting on those results. Experience with ecommerce and transactional experiences. Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications Navigates constraints and complexity while maintaining composure, pushing back diplomatically, and frequently works with a mentor or manager. Thinks deeply to understand the problem space and is curious to rapidly explore potential solutions that align with customer needs. Constantly explores ways to improve the way our products work AND look. Loves to collaborate closely with colleagues in design, research, product management and engineering. Ability to work well with others and build an internal network. Organized, motivated and excited about designing the future of online grocery. Understands when and how to leverage research to identify problems and validate design decisions. Works in all phases of design from research, ideation, execution, and optimization. Is energized by problem-solving and loves to develop recommendations to solve difficult problems. Is attuned to emerging design trends, methods, and patterns. Comfortable designing experiences for mobile web and mobile app touchpoints. Ability to drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements with guidance and direction. Anticipates technical considerations when designing. Produces business results through design. A portfolio that demonstrates systematic and creative design thinking as well as a solid understanding of UX/UI best practices.
Salary Range:
$79,280 - $118,920
Work Schedule:
Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Chicago, IL, and Quincy, MA.
