Salary : $65,013.94 - $79,119.25 AnnuallyLocation : Rancho Mirage, CAJob Type: Permanent/Full-TimeJob Number: 2025-0002Department: MarketingDivision: Marketing & Economic DevelopmentOpening Date: 01/27/2025Closing Date: 2/10/2025 11:59 PM Pacific Position SummaryUnder direction of the City's Director of Marketing and the Sr. Management Analyst, the Digital Marketing Coordinator implements the City's digital and social media strategy across municipal and tourism brands. Coordinator works closely with Video Production Coordinator and or Multimedia Specialist on content ideas and assists as needed on video projects. This position will lead various City programs (i.e., Resident Golf Program, etc.) and work on City's special events and amphitheater related production. Coordinator also assists Video Production Coordinator and or Multimedia Specialist on RMTV programming and serves as back up when needed for web and communication liaison when Media and Communications Specialist is out of office. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: This class specification represents only the core areas of responsibilities; specific position assignment will vary depending on the needs of the department. Works with direct supervisor and agency of record on annual digital and social media strategy for City's municipal and tourism brands.Works with direct supervisor and agency of record on annual content creation calendar for digital and social media needs and executes accordingly.Coordinates, schedules, and prioritizes content creation for all City departments.Assists Video Production Coordinator and or Multimedia Specialist in uploading programming to RMTV cablecast website and works with City's graphic designer on updating RMTV graphics.Creates content for the city's various websites.Assists Video Production Coordinator and or Multimedia Specialist on video content ideas needed for digital and social channels and assist on video projects as needed.Works with direct supervisor on special City programs such as Resident Golf Program or others of similar nature.Assists Marketing and Event Specialist by working City events.Adheres to current Marketing Master Plan and sets annual goals accordingly.Assists Media and Communications Specialist when out of the office as staff liaison for web and communication support.Works with direct supervisor to facilitate partnerships with content creators and community stakeholders.Performs other duties of a similar nature.QUALIFICATIONS/GUIDELINES The following generally describes the knowledge, ability, and education required to successfully perform the job duties. Education and/or Experience: Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for satisfactory job performance. Example combinations include a bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related fields and/or significant work experience in public relations, public communications, event planning or other related government experience.Licensing/Certifications: Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of marketing, public relations, advertising and sales. Principles and practices of the hospitality industry, events planning, conference and exhibition planning and sporting events. Applicable local government policies, procedures and regulations. Techniques for effectively representing the City in contacts with outside agencies, community groups and various business, professional and corporate organizations. Techniques for dealing effectively with the public, vendors, contractors and City staff, in person and over the telephone. Tact, initiative, prudence and independent judgment within general policies and guidelines. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted during performing assigned job duties and providing exceptional customer service to coworkers, internal customers and the public. Strong verbal and written communication skills, self-motivated and proactive.Disaster Service Workers: Under California Government Code Sections 3100 - 3109, public employees are designated as disaster service workers. The term "public employees" includes all persons employed by the state or any county, city, state agency, or public district. Disaster service workers are required to participate in such disaster service activities as may be assigned to them by their employer or by law. The employees working for the City of Rancho Mirage take this responsibility seriously. Disaster plans are continuously being evaluated, drills are scheduled, and employees engage in training where they practice executing emergency support services. ADA and Other Requirements: Positions in this class typically required to sit for prolonged periods, as well as stand, walk, reach, twist, turn, kneel, bend, squat, and stoop in the performance of daily activities. The position requires grasping, repetitive hand movement, and fine coordination in the use of camera, lights, recording devices, and other related equipment. Additionally, the position requires acute vision in reading, filtering and editing film, balancing color, focusing images, and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when editing film and audio recordings, as well as when communicating with others.
