The Amazon Advertising business is growing at a fast pace and this team’s mission is to apply technology to accelerate that growth through best-in-class software engineering, data engineering, and business intelligence.

As part of the Sales Technology team, our goal is to deliver best-in-class products and data solutions to improve the effectiveness of Amazon Advertising's sales teams worldwide. We are building sales enablement products for Amazon Advertising front line sales team.

As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development and launch of core product features that will impact Amazon Ads. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping to define product features, driving system architecture, and spearheading best development practices. Engineers on this team can transform large data sets and disparate systems into actionable, insight-driven products that help Sales teams serve both world-renowned brands and small businesses selling products on Amazon. Key job responsibilities:

  1. Building, leading and growing a high-performing engineering team, including recruiting, mentoring, motivating, promoting, and performance management.
  2. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including customers, product managers, stakeholders, and leaders to ensure the successful delivery of product capabilities.
  3. Timely execution and prioritization of goals for the team and effectively mitigating risks.
  4. Technical leadership including architecture and design discussions and technical deep dives to ensure resolution of root causes of complex issues.
  5. Manage the operational support of products at scale to ensure prevention and timely resolution of customer-impactful problems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
