About the Role

Position Title: Video Producer or Manager

Position Objective: This role involves creating engaging video content, including social media clips, documentaries, and promotional materials, to deliver the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine's message to new audiences in innovative and compelling ways. The position includes overseeing the production process, managing collaborations, and optimizing video content across platforms to enhance audience engagement and strengthen the organization's brand.

About the Communications Team: The Physicians Committee's communications team works to maximize publicity for our campaigns, programs, and research studies through traditional and social media.

Essential Functions:

  • Brainstorm, write, and produce videos for social media, advertisements, and web.
  • Record and edit a variety of videos remotely and on-site.
  • Oversee all video operations and collaborations.
  • Build, manage, and improve the current video operation.
  • Work with other departments to develop and produce video needs.
  • Upload and publish video content to appropriate channels.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external production companies.
  • Hire and coordinate with consultants as needed.
  • Schedule and maintain filming dates and project deadlines.
  • Properly store and catalog all video and audio components.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None to start though there is an option to supervise in the future.

Required Physical Abilities: Office work plus the ability to travel and lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Location: This is a full-time position that may be performed remotely from any location in the United States. Candidates in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area are preferred.

Required Travel: Approximately quarterly for production shoots.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time exempt position (40+ hours per week).

Position Level: The position level for this role is flexible and may be Coordinator or Specialist/Manager level.

Salary: A salary offer will take into consideration education, experience, and skills.

  • Coordinator Level:
    • Minimum: $78,000
    • Maximum: $85,000
  • Specialist/Manager Level:
    • Minimum: $85,000
    • Maximum: $93,000

Reports To:

  • Supervisor: Vice President of Communications
  • Department Director: Vice President of Communications

Qualifications:

All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Education:

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience:

  • Required: A minimum of 8 years of work experience including 5 years of editing experience.

Additional Qualities:

  • Required:
  • Experience producing videos from concept to final edit.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Motion Graphics, and the Adobe Suite.
  • Knowledge of latest production equipment, trends, and techniques.
