Ramp is in a dynamic growth phase, and we’re looking for a skilled writer to bring our data storytelling to the next level. This role is designed for a detail-oriented, hands-on writer who can turn complex metrics into insightful content. You should be equally comfortable parsing dashboards as perfecting headlines—and the idea of utilizing Ramp’s uniquely robust spending data should inspire a near-endless supply of pitches and ideas. Then, you’ll bring those ideas to life, writing reports, articles, scripts, and long-form narratives.

As a Data Writer, you’ll be responsible for working with Ramp’s data tools and working collaboratively across growth and marketing teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead data storytelling: Deep dive into dashboards, partner with subject-matter experts and analysts, and leverage industry research to find the most compelling insights. Then, turn those insights into stories—translating complex data into clear, engaging content.
  • Find the right format for every story: Choose the best medium for each story, from long-form reports to bite-sized videos.
  • Pitch like a newsroom: Collaborate with a team of former journalists to find compelling stories, then bring them to life.
  • Uphold editorial excellence: Your work will be insightful, interesting, and funny while simultaneously centered around quality, depth, and relevance.
  • Track and analyze metrics: Monitor content performance, interpret trends, and continuously refine our approach.
  • Expand our footprint: Build and manage a network of top-notch freelancers to help scale your storytelling.

What You Need

  • 3-5 years of experience in data writing, content development, or data journalism.
  • 1+ years of experience working in a B2B or SaaS environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into understandable and engaging content.
  • Experience with data tools like Looker and content management systems like WordPress or Webflow.
  • The ability and expectation to write every day. Operates with a newsroom mentality, producing content consistently and meeting deadlines.
  • Fastidious writing skills with a focus on clarity, conciseness, and accuracy.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Broad understanding of cultural trends.
