Your Opportunity

Our Energy & Resources group has a new opportunity for a CAD Designer in Portland, OR. As a technician, you will work in a team environment on large projects involving a variety of heavy civil projects from around the world, including dams, hydropower, and mining projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

1. Perform high quality Civil3D Design under the direction of our CAD Manager, Engineering Team, and Project Managers.
2. Comply with schedules and budget hours for CAD efforts for a wide variety of mining and industrial projects.
3. Develop earthwork grading plans and layouts for dams and spillway features using Civil3D.
4. Ability to work with remote teams via ProjectWise with minimal oversight.
5. Attention to detail and strong QA/QC skills.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

1. Experience using advanced Civil 3D grading features, corridors, roads, volumetrics, and other tools.
2. Previous experience working on Dams and Spillways related projects is a plus.
3. Previous experience with Civil Site design, Carlson Software, ProjectWise, Globalmapper, and ArcGIS is a plus.
4. Solid computer literacy in MS Office products.
5. Proficiency with AutoCAD is a must.
6. Proficiency with MicroStation is a plus.
7. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
8. Excellent interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail.
9. Ability to work closely with Project Engineers, adhering to budget guidelines, schedules, and client specifications.
10. Follow production guidelines and project standards in the department drafting standards manual.
11. Support team operations and promote our health and safety culture.
12. Ability to work under tight deadlines while delivering a quality product for the client.
13. Eager to learn with strong listening, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
14. A highly motivated self-starter who demonstrates professionalism and accepts responsibility.
15. A team player who shows a positive attitude towards clients and strives for constant improvement in process and delivery.

Education and Experience

Degree from a Technical College in CAD with an emphasis in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D (through 2018 or later).

Position will primarily work in an office setting/remotely working from home; may require some field work.
