Amazon Publisher Services (APS) helps publishers of all sizes and on all channels better monetize their content through effective advertising. APS unites publishers with advertisers across devices and media channels. We work with Amazon teams across the globe to solve complex problems for our customers. The end results are Amazon products that let publishers focus on what they do best - publishing.

We are seeking a motivated backend/fullstack engineer to develop the infrastructure behind our Marketplace to connect the ad supported internet to standalone services that help publishers better monetize and operate their sites for their end users. This includes building out the APIs against which partners will integrate, the business logic to connect publishers to their preferred partners, data pipelines that produce and consume streams for partner analysis, and real-time data enrichment in our distributed systems that process Internet scale.

Key job responsibilities In this role, you will:

Help define the system architecture, own and implement specific components, and help shape the overall experience. Lead discussions to analyze our needs, then improve and develop front-end solutions. Instill the culture of software quality from creation to production deployment. Write quality code backed by automated unit, integration tests. Instrument apps, debug to resolve production issues and tune the applications to improve performance. Break down the work items, assign tasks to junior engineers and mentor them to grow. Continuously learn modern technologies, share with team, improve best practices for frontend applications development and delivery. Build and operate the systems based on real-time customer data and demanding service-level agreements.

About the team The Marketplace Services team within APS is responsible for improving publisher yield through connecting them with leading third-party SSPs and DSPs and continuously optimizing their traffic through our 3PB program, connect the publishers with industry leading services and technology providers (vendors) to enhance their signal fidelity on the bidstream through our Connections Marketplace (CxM) program and provide industry-first measurement and analytics capability on the impact of bid stream signals through our Signal IQ program.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language - Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of industry experience in software development - MS or Ph.D. in a science or engineering discipline - Hands-on experience in ad-tech industry - Knowledge of ad tech entities like DSPs, SSPs, DMPs, Publishers, and Advertisers - A deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, and a track record of shipping software on time - Experience with agile software development - A strong bias for action - Self-directed, flexible, goal-oriented and strong sense of ownership - Strong verbal and written communications skills - Experience presenting complex technical information succinctly to technical and non-technical audiences.
