An employer is looking for a Technical Writer in the Hanover, MD area. This individual will be joining the technical communication and documentation team responsible for training customers on their products. This individual will be on the team responsible for creating the material utilized in these trainings.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have:

• 3+ years of technical writing experience/ highlighting mechanical and electrical experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent additional years of working experience)

• Structured authoring and XML

Experienced working with component content management systems (CCMS)

 

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:

• Bachelors Degree in Technical Communication, English, or Computer Science

• Experience with Tridion (CCMS)

• Experience with DITA XML

• Experience in the material handling or warehouse industry

• Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustration

 

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and writing various types of user documentation, including how-to guides, manuals, references, or instructions. This candidate should have strong communication skills which enable them to explain complicated concepts in a simple manner. This individual will also meet with customer representatives frequently in order to understand required content.
